Ukraine

Ukraine is a country with a wide open landscape and big potential to increase wind power in the future. About 40% of the landscapeis suitable for wind power generation.

The Ukrainian Government has developed a strategy to bring the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix up from 5 percent currently to 25 percent by 2035, and large-scale renewable energy projects are burgeoning due to improvement of the investment climate in the country.

NBT has started construction of the 250 MW Syvash Wind Farm, which is financed by a group of international lenders led by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

In addition, NBT has acquired the Zophia Wind Farm with a total capacity of 742.5 MW. Construction is expected to start in 2020.

In May 2018, NBT opened its Kiev office to support project development in Ukraine.

Continuing to look for opportunities as the Ukrainian market matures, it is well positioned to help the country achieve its renewable energy.

Ukraine is considered to be one of the most interesting areas of the world when it comes to renewable windmill power
